I have 2 computers, both Win 8.1 - One is a Dell, the other is an HP laptop. Since my machine doesn't have any other means of transferring the pattern except with a card, I am happy that it gives me the option of having so much variety, even if it isn't all that easy to use. If there are any others out there having this issue and have a different work around, I would love to hear comments. I don't know if I am the only person on the planet that has run into the issue, but aside from it being a little laborious it works fine. I have a SE270D (yep, it is an oldie, but a goody) and if I mini-hack into the actual Samples folder all is well. pes files to the Samples folder in order to get the program to recognize my. I have had to hack into the program itself and add. So the USB card writer (Windows 10 compatible) is a pricey solution to just transfer files and no ability to modify.lost original PE Design Software several PC crashes and moves ago.another thing.WON'T read the old card that came with the old rs232 reader.can only use the included card.would have been nice to have two cards.I know the issue is newer machines use a later version's of PES with larger file and hoop sizes.but there is no reason to not allow transferring VER 1 PES files to the old card if there is enough memory.if the design is not compatible with the old machine.so won't be read.and maybe some smaller designs will actually work. Works as advertised.but only 4 Stars for cost and forced obsolescence.Have old Brother PC 8200 card reader.I have a lot of designs (PES Ver 1) on a CD.card reader has rs232 serial connection.no adapters or PCI serial card would work.problem is Brother doesn't provide drivers for this connection.only USB drivers and primitive transfer software.
